Gold and Silver Flower
Lonicera japonica, also known as Japanese Honeysuckle and Gold and Silver
Flower, is a perennial evergreen climbing shrub. The name originates from the
Compendium of Materia Medica. It is the flower of Ren Dong Teng, literally
meaning "winter enduring vine”. The flowers open white and fade to yellow,
hence the name gold and silver flower. It has a long flowering season and
sweet fragrance. Gold and silver flower is harvested in the blossoming season
between May and September. It is a very common medicinal plant.
